Informed Consent Form

This research is being conducted by Nathan Hickman and Andrew Pennington as their psychology senior thesis research project at Hanover College.

Upon reading this informed consent page and selecting the continue button at the bottom of the page, you will be presented with a facial stimulus and asked to rate various factors on the scales provided. We are interested in how people make first impressions. We will be asking you to rate two individuals on several factors. Once you have rated these factors for the individual presented, you will then be directed to a page displaying the next stimulus to be rated. This will continue until you have rated each stimulus. After rating all stimuli you will then be presented with a debriefing page.

The entire experiment should take no more than 10 minutes. There are no known risks involved in being in this study, beyond those of everyday life. The information you provide during the experiment is completely anonymous; at no time will your name be associated with the responses you give.
